Offbeat: Start / Select Buttons
So playing with my Vita, I came to a strange realization: why is there still a Start and Select button on a brand-new, modern-era console? Especially the “Select” button. I sat there looking at it thinking “wow wait, what? when was the last time I purposely hit a Select button?!” Actually, it’s not just the Vita. Nintendo has the DS and 3DS rocking a Select button...

Skills To-Do List 2012
- Learn how to paint digitally. I don’t really know how to paint digitally, to be honest with you. That is, to straight-up just paint a picture. My work is very reliant on the technical skill of my line art. This causes my art to be colored like an animation cell, never painted. I fill my colors like flats, then apply shading over that. Never any build-up, the line art always remains in the...

PROTIP: Making straight vector lines in Paint Tool...
Paint Tool SAI has no shift-constraints when using a linework vector layer to draw with. This my preferred workaround. Gives me great flexibility to wing my perspective.
This may already be a well-known thing among SAI users, but I thought I’d make it into a mini-tutorial anyway :) This may be the start of a new mini-series of tutorial which focuses on a single aspect of using a piece of...

I enjoy (literally) lighter comics more.
I finally found out what it is I don’t like about the look of a good number of american comics — I used to think it was a stylistic thing, (chunky features,) but really it’s the total amount of black they use that bothers me. I know it’s supposed to be good form to spot your blacks, (lots of blacks, was taught this in school,) on your comic because it “grounds the...

Remixes I enjoy more than the Originals
Usually I’m not a huge fan of remixes — especially ones that make up tracks 12-20 on an otherwise 11 track album. But I have to admit, sometimes there are ones I encounter which just strike me in just all the right ways, or just plain get me to hear the song in a new and even more appreciated light. Here’s a short list of the songs I’ve come to adore because of their...

That's about 511 lbs.
Huh. I just found out there’s a menu on my monitor (the NEC MultiSync EA231WMi) that tells me how much carbon dioxide pollution it’s produced (in weight) over its entire life of use.
So far it’s racked up 232.247 kg’s since around December 2009.
Hey alexds1, you have this monitor. What’s your ticker up to? It’s in the “Info” menu.

Youtube Logic #1: On Color
http://youtu.be/yu44JRTIxSQ
Hahahah everyone in the comments keep saying “Dude OKGO your so dumb, the primary colors are red green and blue, not red yellow and blue, durrhurr.”
Of course had they ever bothered to actually LEARN something, they’d know RGB is additive, while RYB is subtractive.
I don’t usually ever use a facepalm, but I just can’t express how I feel...
