Brian Cox said in The Wonders of the Solar System, “Our planet is unique, but it doesn’t exist in splendid isolation, it is intimately connected with its cosmic neighbors.  Earth is not the master of its own destiny, and it never has been. The life and death of our planet is influenced by forces emanating from the very depths of space.”

Here’s a funny thought, thinking about that quote, what if the Earth is influenced by all the furthest of objects in our universe, and all their existence plays a role in how our world is as it is? It would be as if to think, “the entire universe exists just to have created and maintain the Earth.” — ONLY. For nothing else. JUST Earth. I wouldn’t know how to feel if that were true, hahaha.

Sounds like he’s trying to explain the Strong anthropic principle.
